Broker files
Where the data comes from
If AlertDesk doesn't know your broker
Import the broker's transactions file anyway. AlertDesk shows the first rows and guesses which column is the date, the action, the symbol, the quantity, the price, the fees, the amount and the account, and what each action word means. You check and correct the guesses; anything you're not sure of goes to Needs a look. The answers are kept as your own layout for that broker (Settings → Your own file layouts): used for later files with the same columns, and never replaced by updates.
Last resort: AlertDesk's own template. Copy your trades into it, one row per action, save it as CSV and import it.
