Forwarding from Gmail
Gmail forwards with a filter, and keeps the service as the sender. It asks for a code first, which AlertDesk shows you.
Steps
- In your everyday Gmail: Settings (the gear) → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP → Add a forwarding address. Type the AlertDesk address (a +word is fine: yourname.alerts+servicename@gmail.com), then Next and Proceed.
- Gmail sends a confirmation code to the AlertDesk mailbox. In AlertDesk, press Check now on the Mailbox page: the code shows under Forwarding confirmations.
- Back in your everyday Gmail, type the code under Forwarding and press Verify. Leave "Disable forwarding" chosen: the filter, not the whole mailbox, does the forwarding.
- Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new filter. In From, type the service's sender address; press Create filter; tick Forward it to and choose the AlertDesk address; press Create filter.
- Repeat the filter for each service.
What you should see
- The code on AlertDesk's Mailbox page, and "Verified" in Gmail.
- The service's next letter on the Feed, from the service's own address.
If it doesn't work
- No code: press Check now again after a minute; look in the AlertDesk Gmail's Spam.
- "Forward it to" can't be chosen: the forwarding address isn't verified yet (step 3).
