AlertDesk 0.2.11

AlertDesk

AlertDesk puts the trade recommendations from the newsletters you follow beside your own trades. It collects each service's recommendations from the mail you forward to it, tells you about new ones and closes, and keeps score of how your closed trades compare with what each service said. It runs on your own Mac or Windows computer, and what it keeps stays there.

Information, not advice

AlertDesk does not make trading recommendations and is not a financial adviser. The recommendations it shows are the ones in the newsletters you forward to it during setup; AlertDesk reads them and keeps track of them for you. It does not endorse any service or any of their recommendations. ARK Invest and Zacks are examples of letters AlertDesk can read, not services we suggest or endorse. AlertDesk recommends no service. Do your own research before every trade.

Past performance is not indicative of future returns. Trading is risky; you can lose money. Everything AlertDesk shows is for information and education only and is not a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

AlertDesk never places trades and never predicts anything. It's an analysis and alert tool: information, not advice.

Start here

  1. Download AlertDesk 0.2.11: for a Mac (macOS 13 or later) or for Windows. Every file and the notes are on the latest release.
  2. Install. On a Mac: open the downloaded file, drag AlertDesk onto Applications, and open it from Applications. On Windows: run the downloaded installer; it installs for you only, without an administrator password. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway: the Windows version isn't code-signed yet.
  3. First run. AlertDesk opens its page in your browser and walks you through its setup: Welcome · Your accounts · Your services · Prices · Done. Its dot stays in the menu bar (on a Mac) or the tray (on Windows); open the page from there any time. The page is only on your computer.

Getting started, step by step: a mailbox of its own, your services, your broker's files.

Send a report

If something went wrong, in AlertDesk open Help → Send a report: you see everything the report holds before anything is sent, and your own mail program sends it. What a report holds. If AlertDesk won't open at all, write to alertdesk.beta@gmail.com.
